Way to Go H2O!

Wow Summer is really here and we are feeling the heat!  The children have loved playing in the water so we thought we would share some photos of your children with you.  While playing in the water the children are learning through their senses as they splash the cool, wet water and also they may sneak a sip to taste.  With cups, bowls and watering cans the children explore the properties of the water and as they tip and pour they are too learning concepts of weight an volume which can be used in may aspects of other play.  Water is a great learning experience for the children an so much fun to play in.  We will continue to have the water out over the summer and will watch the children learning alongside each other, building trust and confidence around water too.  Time to get the sprinkler out again!!

On His Own 2 Feet!

Over the last week or two Aiden has been looking like he is about to stand.  Aiden has been using his arms and elbows to pull himself up onto our lower shelves.  He succeeds and can now get up onto his knees and pull everything down off the shelves.
Today in the sleep room as I was putting him to sleep, I turned my back and saw this.  Aiden had pulled himself up to stand and then so proud of himself he began jumping up and down in his bed.  So cute but wrong timing Aiden you were supposed to be sleeping!!  Funny enough right as I am writing this Aiden has pulled himself up to stand at one of our toy shelves!!  What a surprise.  He is away now and it wont be long till he is confident to start stepping around the furniture.

When the Sun is Shining!

It was such a beautiful morning today.  The children were so happy playing outside in the sandpit.  We decided that instead of bringing them all inside for morning tea that we would bring it out to them.  Bex and Gemma bought a blanket down and together we sat and ate our yummy fresh fruit and muffins in the sun. It was a great idea and we cannot wait for summer to come so we can do this more often.

Our Busy Week In The Beginning Of Spring

We have been so busy this week, that we wanted to share some of our fun times at Village Kids with you.

We loved writing and wiping it all out again on our new white boards, we even wrote some letters to each other and drew some amazing shapes using all the colours.

Amelia and Anahera enjoyed lying down and having a rest while Donna swung them in the swing, almost sending them off to sleep.

These Two photos show the fun had by the children outside with Rachael.   They explored the garden looking for treasures to put in their baskets.  The children found all sorts, sticks, leaves and even some neat looking seed pods.  Arama really enjoyed this.  Together Rachael and the children also made some yummy treats to hang in the garden to feed the friendly birds.

Mason has a blast painting and creating the perfect card for his mums birthday (Happy Birthday Rach)

We were given some plants from Aiden's mum, so we gifted some to next door, and then helped plant them.
Thanks Anna your a Star!

And last but not least we welcome Charlie to Village Kids, we cant wait to share more special moments like these with you. Happy spring everybody, enjoy the baby lambs, daffodils and the warmer weather!

Patience in painting

Wow what amazing weather we have been having in the Bay! Our babies have been loving getting outside and exploring there environment. Today they found the painting and by the looks of the photos they enjoyed it, and we were so impressed with Anahera who waited so patiently. The mood was so calm and quiet that the children had the best opportunity to explore the paints. Arama even has a little taste. Fingers and toes crossed for another fine day tomorrow!

What A Beautiful Day!!

It was such a beautiful day.  We just had to get outside so they doors were opened and off the children went.  The children are getting to know our routines so well that Amelia, Ana, Alicia, and Zoe all grabbed their warm woolly hats before going down to the garden.  There was so much to do.  The children ran around, threw balls in the hoop and basket, balanced on the see saw and got messy in some blue gloop!! Emma loved the gloop too and she stayed playing in the gloop trough just as long as Sammy and Liam.  Sam and Amelia were a bit unsure about the gloop today, it must have felt cold and wet on their hands; but Fuchsia loved it, she was shaking her hands in it and watching the gloop drip down from her hands.  Messy play was so much fun to explore today and what a mess we made!  We all hope tomorrow will be just as fine as today so we can go back out into the garden and have some more fun.
